Muscari

Look! Some of the free bulbs we planted a few weeks ago have actually sprouted this week.

Our bulbs are beginning to rise in the front yard

According to my little map of bulb planting plans these sproutlets are the bulbs labelled “Muscari saffier.” So, if all goes well, we might have bunches of these flowers:

In the mean time I am inordinately pleased to be greeted by this view each time I come home.

It seemed so impossible that all those sprouted bulbs, we planted in entirely the wrong season would ever do anything but rot. And, now look.  Maybe there is something to this gardening gig after all.
